Common Uses

1- Musli is sweet, cooling, carminative, tonic, antipyretic, mucilaginous, nutritive, aphrodisiac, stimulant, and tonic. It is used for sexual weakness, low libido, low sperm count, etc. as a tonic for the reproductive system for men and women. It is also found to be effective in cough and asthma.

2- It is prepared as a paste with goat milk or honey and applied locally over the face to brighten the complexion. The root extract is effective on the urinary system and is considered to be diuretic in action; it is given in dysuria, polyuria, gonorrhoea in addition to the menorrhagia, leucorrhoea, piles, and leucoderma.

3- The drug is considered to be an alternative appetiser, fattening and restorative in diabetes, obesity, and immunity problems. It is also employed in ophthalmic conditions, vomiting, dyspepsia, lumbago, pain in the joints, and in the diseases of nerves.

Indications – It is internally administered in sexual dysfunctions, nocturnal emission, leucorrhoea, emaciation, diabetes, oedema, fatigue, and haematuria.
